Sasin MBA students won top prize in Canada

After winning HM King’s trophy at the mai Bangkok Business Challenge 2011 in February, Siam Organic was declared the winner of the Stu Clark Investment Competition in Winnipeg on April 3. The win comes with a Cdn$20,000 cash prize and an invitation to ring the closing bell of NASDAQ in Time Square, New York, later this year. The team is offered an automatic berth at the prestigious Venture Lab Investment Competition (formerly Global Moot Corp – regarded as the “Super Bowl” of Business Plan Competitions) in Austin, Texas, in May – this will make Siam Organic only the third team in Sasin’s history to have ever been given the opportunity to compete there (the others being BioPharma team in 2003 and PharmaSilk team in 2005).

Siam Organic team comprises Peetachai Dejkraisak, Pradeep Akkunoor, Nithipong Durongwattana, Pornthida Wongphatharakul, and Apilux Huvanandana. The team aims to bring Jasberry rice - an ultra-high antioxidant new rice variety crossbred from jasmine rice and black rice – to the North American market.
