The Bangkok Business Challenge (BBC), Asia’s only global intercollegiate post-graduate start-up competition, was created in 2002 to encourage students in post-graduate programs across the globe to become more entrepreneurial. For 2018, the Bangkok Business Challenge has seen a historical number of applicants: 112 postgraduate teams representing 52 institutions, from 16 countries across 4 continents! This almost doubles the 2017 BBC applicant pool of 70 teams.

The major development for the Bangkok Business Challenge 2018 is that SCG, one of the competition’s main sponsors since 2016, has become the new Title Sponsor and Co-Host for the 2018 competition to be held on 8-10 February 2018 and will be rebranded as The SCG Bangkok Business Challenge @Sasin.

Additionally, in an effort to cultivate the deep-tech start-up ecosystem in Thailand, the Sustainability & Entrepreneurship Center at Sasin School of Management - the competition’s organizer - has introduced the Thailand Track to support domestic teams. Developed in conjunction with the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), the competition’s Title Sponsor and Co-Host from 2008 to 2017, the Thailand Track includes an incubation program that fully utilizes Sasin Alumni mentors to capacity build not only postgraduate startup teams from institutions across Thailand but also their institutions’ resident faculty advisors. This year, the competition will support 20 postgraduate teams from 8 local institutions, tripling the local enrollment from last year!
