For the past 10 years, The mai Bangkok Business Challenge @Sasin has been one of the most competitive global sustainable venture plan competitions hosted by the Market for Alternative Investment (mai) and Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University.

The EHB team – Kristeen Joi G. Lantican, Alan B. Fernandez, Justin Kayne V. Chua, Christopher M. Duque, Andre Mikael L. Dy – mentored by Prof. Titos Ortigas, proposed to bring Ecological Hollow Blocks to the market. Ecological Hollow Blocks are made with recyclable plastic bottles as an aggregate in order to reduce the amount of recyclable waste and lower construction costs.

The EHB team began the competition by facing off with their counterparts from Cornell University (U.S.A), National University of Singapore, Queensland University of Technology (Australia), and Hitotsubashi University (Japan) to name a few. The University of Oregon team from the United States of America was the champion of The mai Bangkok Business Challenge @Sasin 2012.
