Sasin and mai to host the 11th Global New Venture Plan Competition for the Royal Trophy 63 teams from 20 countries on 5 continents are competing under the theme “Seeds of Success for a Sustainable Future”
Professor Toemsakdi Krishnamra, Director of Sasin, announced that the Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University in cooperation with the Market for Alternative Investment (mai) under The Stock Exchange of Thailand group will hold the mai Bangkok Business Challenge® @ Sasin 2013 from February 28 – March 2, 2013. Master’s degree students of leading universities worldwide will be competing for H.M. The King’s Award and other prizes worth over 3,000,000 baht.
The competition is supported by major sponsors comprising The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), Kiatnakin Bank Co., Ltd., Money Channel, Tesco Lotus and Golden Bowl Co.,Ltd.
A total of 63 business plans from 45 world class universities located in 20 countries were submitted. Of these, 16 teams from 11 countries are eligible for the semi-final round including teams from Rice University in Texas and the University of Oregon in the U.S.A., Queensland University of Technology from Australia, National University of Singapore or NUS from Singapore, Indian School of Business from India, Yonsei School of Business from South Korea, and others Ultimately, there will be only one winning team which will receive His Majesty the King’s Award. Most of the plans involve technology and products that are environmentally friendly and socially beneficial.
